Thomas Dalton McManaway | Thomas Dalton McManawayMcMANAWAY, THOMAS DALTON (1810-94) was born at Youghal, County Cork, Ireland. He was a surveyor by occupation, and came to New Zealand in the Mariner (1849), settling in Wellington. He surveyed part of the Wairarapa and the Hutt small farm settlement. In 1856 he was a drainage commissioner for the town. He represented Wellington Country in the Provincial Council from 1856 till 1858, when he resigned on accepting a survey contract.
