Robert Paulin | Robert PaulinPAULIN, ROBERT (1862-95) was born at Enfield, London, and having trained as a civil engineer, came to West Australia in 1874 and to New Zealand shortly afterwards. As a surveyor, he made a number of exploratory journeys on the west coast of Otago and in other parts of the country. Some of these are described in articles which he wrote for the New Zealand Journal of Science and he published in London The Wild West Coast (1889). Paulin married a daughter of Thomas Oliver, C.E., of Dunedin. He was accidentally killed on 14 Mar 1895. N.Z. Jour. of Science, vol. i, p. 65, 119, 504.
