Louisa Alice Baker | Louisa Alice BakerBAKER, LOUISA ALICE (née Dawson). For some years Mrs Baker contributed to the Otago Witness under the pen name of 'Alice'. In 1894 she went to London to publish her first novel, A Daughter of the King, which was followed in steady succession by 15 others, including The Majesty of Man (1895), In Golden Shackles (1896) and Wheat in the Ear (1898).
