Joseph Schroder Moore | Joseph Schroder MooreMOORE, JOSEPH SCHRODER, was a son of the Rev. Francis Moore and a brother of the Rev. Lorenzo Moore. He studied for the bar, was admitted in England and practised in Wellington in partnership with A. de B. Brandon (q.v.). In 1866 he was appointed acting puisne judge, a position he held for two years. Presiding at the criminal sessions in Auckland (Jun 1868), Moore ordered the whipping of persons found guilty of garotting.
