George Webster | George WebsterWEBSTER, GEORGE (1821-71) was born at Montrose, Scotland. He came to New Zealand in the Jane Gifford (1842), and engaged with his brothers in sawmilling at Horeke, Hokianga. He lived for some years in Auckland and was chairman of the board of city commissioners (1868). Shortly afterwards he left for Hokianga, where he had an extensive business.
