Edmund Goodbehere | Edmund GoodbehereGOODBEHERE, EDMUND (1854-1938) was born at Handsworth, England; educated at Stony Stratford and in 1880 came to New Zealand and settled at Feilding. He served at Parihaka with the Manchester Rifles. He was a borough councillor from 1888 and mayor on many occasions (1892, 1897-1904, 1910-13). He represented the borough on the Palmerston North hospital board (1892-1906) and was chairman (1899-1900); was president of the Feilding A. and P. association (1903); a member of the Oroua licensing committee (1897-1930) and chairman of the Lytton street school committee.
