Christopher Edward Dampier | Christopher Edward DampierDAMPIER, CHRISTOPHER EDWARD was an English solicitor, of Lincoln's Inn Fields, and arrived in Lyttelton by the Phoebe Dunbar in 1850 with the documents of the Canterbury Association, of which he was the solicitor. He was admitted to the bar in that year. Dampier represented Lyttelton in the Provincial Council (1853-57). In 1859 he took up Esk Head station on the Hurunui, which was managed by his son, C. E.
